Lip Lift
A lip lift is a surgical procedure that raises the position of the upper lip to add fullness and definition and shorten the distance between the nose and upper lip.
Is a Lip Lift right for you ?
A lip lift is an excellent procedure for many patients who are dissatisfied with their lips or have noticed changes over time. This procedure can be customized to achieve your specific goals and combined with other surgical or nonsurgical lip augmentations like fat transfer to lips or lip filler for an overall refresh.
During your initial consultation, your surgeon will provide a comprehensive exam and discuss your goals to understand if this procedure is best for you.
Benefits
Increase lip size or add volume and fullness to the lips
Hide significant gaps between the bottom of the nose and upper lip
Reduce signs of aging around the lips and mouth
Create a more proportionate smile and balance facial features
Correct a perpetual frown
Before surgery
A patient care concierge will guide you through the entire consultation process, which can be attended in person or virtually. During the consultation, your surgeon will learn about your goals, answer any questions, and perform an examination to create a personalized surgical plan. You will then be matched with a surgical coordinator who will walk you through each step of the preoperative process.
During surgery
The surgeon creates a tiny incision just under the base of the nose, positioning it where scarring will be minimal and inconspicuous. Through the incision, a small section of skin is removed, and the upper lip line is raised to expose a portion of the upper teeth and create a fuller pink part of the lip. If the goal is to address a downturned mouth, incisions will be placed at each corner to remove a narrow wedge of skin and release the DAO muscle, effectively preventing recurrence.
To close the incisions, your surgeon will use a unique layered suturing technique that decreases tension during the healing process and allows minimal scarring.
After surgery
The sensitive area of the mouth is prone to swelling and bruising after a lip lift. Your surgeon will provide specific instructions for optimal post-operative care, including an advanced scar management protocol after the initial healing period. Your surgical team is always available and will closely monitor your recovery in the weeks and months following surgery.
